nurses get it wrong.

Frequently Asked
Questions
1. Most EMR's
haven't a clue when it comes to calculating catch-up schedules. They
just count doses and that is WRONG. How are you different?
Answer: Our shot
logic is based on the 2006 CDC Recommendations, MMR Notes, and
countless emails back and forth to the CDC. We calculate doses
according to the patient's birth date, date of evaluation, date of all
doses, time between doses, risk flags, etc. The logic is comprehensive
and well tested.
2. What is your
goal for your product?
Answer: Truthfully,
we do not understand how health care professionals calculate catch-up
doses without a computer. Therein lies our mission... We want to help
reduce immunization mistakes. Our Shot Calculator does just
that.
3. I don't believe
your shot calculator can possibly be 100% correct. What if I find an
error?
Answer: If you are the first to find
a specific inaccurate calculation based on the
2006 CDC Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedule, we pledge this.... we will fix it immediately, post the fix to our website,
email all registered users, and give you a free Practice Today EMR with eight hours of free on-line
training. We'll even treat you and a guest to dinner. We take our Immunization Schedule seriously. Lives depend on it, and we must get it 100% right!
But, we need your help to do so.
4. I understand
that you have a Practice Today (Home Edition) that has the same shot
logic. Is this true? What does it cost?
Answer: Yes, we do.
Practice Today (Home Edition) is available for $59. We want mommy's
and daddy's to be ever vigilant in tracking their child's
immunization. Let's give them an affordable, easy to use tool to do it
with. To ask a parent to decipher the CDC Recommended Childhood and
Adolescent Immunization Schedule is absurd.
We want parents to
show up for pediatric office visits with the VIS sheets having already
been read! We want them to anticipate what shots are coming. Practice
Today (Home Edition) prepares them to do just that.
