Insurance Billing - Paper & Electronic

  • Standard HCFA 1500, Dental Claim Form, and Attending Dentist Forms - Practice Today prepares paper insurance forms as required by insurance carriers. Forms may be printed as often as needed. All required data fields are completed for all types of medical services and billing situations. You can use both pre-printed OCR forms or plain paper;
  • Standard NSF (National Standard Format) compatibility -
    Practice Today can submit claims electronically using the NSF format, or HCFA flat-file format. You can use an electronic clearing house or submit directly to a carrier that accepts NSF. This is done over a telephone line using a high speed modem.
  • Ability to re-print insurance claims at any time;
  • Insurance claims are tracked and an aged report of insurance receivables can be easily produced;
  • You can easily insert custom narrative phrases into insurance claims;
  • Workers' Compensation Forms can be automatically prepared for some states;
  • Practice Today can bill primary, secondary and tertiary carriers, as well as workers’ compensation.

Patient Billing

  • Practice Today can prepare patient statements in a “Patient-friendly” format. Statements can reflect selected charges, deferring other items for pending insurance.
  • Statements can be printed for any patient on demand, or at prescribed intervals.
  • Family bills can be easily generated.
  • Automated dunning messages are generated according to patient’s aged balance.
  • You can automatically apply finance charges for selected patients;

Personal Injury Billing

  • Statements can be sent directly to the attorney handling a personal injury case. They can be generated on a regular basis, or at the close of the case.

Collections

  • Practice Today has an integrated collections systems. You can easily flag a patient for collections and keep track of every collection detail. The system will automatically document every contact with the patient. You can click on stock responses, or you can type verbose notes.
  • Collection notes allow you to set a “reminder date”.

Entering Charges & Payments

  • Ability to adjust rates for different patients/insurers;
  • Can define custom procedure codes and fee schedules;
