There are three simple steps to successfully installing and running the Practice Today
(Pro) Demo:
- Download one file and install the program (use the default install
folder);
- Check your Regional Date setting;
- Run the Practice Today program;
Download Instructions
To download and run the Practice Today (Pro) Demo is a very simple four step process.
You must download one file from the Downloads page. The file is named:
ptoday_win.exe
Proceed as follows:
- If you have a previous Practice Today demo loaded on your computer, it must be
uninstalled, and the folder must be deleted.
- Click the "ptoday_win.exe" link near the top of the Downloads page.
Choose to save the file on your hard drive. Wait for the download to complete.
If you are on a fast connection, this should take 10-15 minutes. If you are
on a modem, this will take over six hours, and you should probably order a
Demo CDRom.
- Use Windows Explorer (or My Computer) to locate the folder where you saved
ptoday_win.exe.
Double click on the ptoday_win.exe file. It will automatically extract, and
installation should begin. Follow the directions displayed on
your screen. This should involve no more than clicking the NEXT button.
We suggest you use the default path and folder name.
Your installation is now complete.
Important Technical Note: If you install Practice Today to a directory other than
"C:\Program Files\Practice Today (Pro)" then you must edit the ADS.INI file and
enter the new pathname for both PTODAY and CONV_DATA.
Changing the Regional Date Setting
- From the Windows Desktop, click the Start icon.
- Click Settings.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double click on Regional Settings.
- Click on the Date Tab.
- Change Short Date Style to "mm/dd/yyyy."
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
- Close the Control Panel.
Starting the Program

- Type in your initials, then click Login.
You are then presented with the Practice Today Main Menu. You can now start using the
program.
